This weekend: Hamilton’s Santa Parade, Christkindlmarkt, A Christmas Carol and more

DowntownHamiltonChristmas2012Santa Parade in Hamilton: The annual Santa Parade kicks off “snow or shine” at 11 a.m. Saturday at MLK Boulevard and travels down High Street to Riverfront Plaza, where the Christkindlmarkt will occur at the Marriott hotel.

Christkindlmarkt: German music, German food, German items for sale … all will be part of the 2nd Annual Christkindlmarkt at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Hamilton. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

A Christmas Carol: The Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre is performing this classic play at Miami Hamilton’s Parrish Auditorium. Showtimes are 8 p.m. today, 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are being sold at www.ghctplay.com.

Santa House: The Santa House is located by the old courthouse at the corner of High and Second streets in downtown Hamilton. Hours this weekend are 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Open again from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 12, Noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 13, noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 14, 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 19, noon to 9 a.m. Dec. 20, noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 21, noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 22 and noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 23. Visitors may take their own photos with Santa for free, or have one taken and get a frame with it for $12.

Oxford Holiday Festival: 6 to 8:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Horse-drawn carriage rides, Santa on a fire truck, hot chocolate, gingerbread contest and more. Located at the Uptown parks in Oxford.

Christmas In Trenton: Holiday festivities in Trenton kick off Saturday and include a parade, business walk, children’s crafts, tree-lighting and more. Click here for more details.

Light Up Fairfield: 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Village Green Park in Fairfield. Santa, tree lighting, shopping and more.

Brilliant Bebb Holiday Light Display: 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and Saturday, and again next weekend. Governor Bebb MetroPark, 1979 Bebb Park Lane, Okeana. Music, shopping, demos and more. Car or van, $10; Bus or group of 15 or more: $20.

German Village Christmas Walk: Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in the German Village Historic District in Hamilton. Shopping, strolling carolers, horse carriage rides and more.

Holiday Lights on the Hill: Pyramid Hill’s annual holiday lights exhibit is open now through Jan. 4, 2015. The drive-through event is open from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. Admission is $20 per carload Mondays through Thursdays, and $25 Fridays through Sundays. 1763 Hamilton Cleves Road, Hamilton.

Christmas at EnterTRAINment Junction: Families may peruse the world’s largest train display and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, now through Jan. 4, 2015. See website for ticket prices and extended holiday hours. 7379 Squire Court, West Chester Twp.

Light Up Middletown: The annual holiday lights display at Smith Park, 500 Tytus Ave., Middletown, is open. It takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. nightly through Dec. 31. Admission is by donation.

Niederman Family Farm Christmas Walk: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, 6 to 10 p.m. Fridays, 6 to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 30. Niederman Farm, 4972 Lesourdesville West Chester Road, Liberty Twp. Free. Walk-through Christmas display.
