History of Dayton Lane to be reviewed

Dr. Tom Nye, a former Hamilton mayor and an optometrist with a practice in the Dayton Lane Historic District, will share a presentation about the history of the neighborhood at the  Dayton Lane Historic Area’s annual meeting on March 5.

The event begins 6:30 p.m. at the Hamilton Board of Education Administration Building, 533 Dayton Street, in the Dayton Lane District.

At the meeting, which is open to the public, President Dan Graham will give a recap of Association activities in 2014, and a preview of plans for the coming year. There will be a discussion about the benefits of living in Dayton Lane, and the advantages of Hamilton’s historic district designations.

The purpose of the Dayton Lane Association is to promote and encourage the preservation and restoration of the Dayton Lane District, and to serve as a resource to the public and to public officials regarding the history of Dayton Lane and historic preservation.

The event is open to the public, and all those interested in Hamilton and its historic preservation are encouraged to attend.
