Synopsis: “Of Mice and Men” follows a pair of migrant field workers during the

Depression in California as they move south from Weed to work on a ranch in Soledad. The novella navigates between the everyday realities of George Milton and Lennie Small — gigantic in stature, well-meaning, but with limited mental capacity — and their dream of settling down on their own ranch, a dream that seems all the more tempting for its impossibility.

Characters needed:

George Milton: 20- to 40-years-old

Lennie Small: Gentle, giant man, who is mentally challenged (20- to 40-years-old)

Curley’s Wife: 20- to 30-years-old

Whit: 20- to 60-years-old

Curley: 20- to 40-years-old

Crooks: 20- to 80-years-old (black)

Candy: 50- to 80-years-old (one arm)

Slim: 20- to 50-years-old

Carlson: 20- to 50-years-old

The Boss: 50- to 70-years-old
